•Weighted-averages of producer and consumer risks are minimized or limited.•The methodology for lot disposition is valid for both Bayesians and Frequentists.•Underlying integer nonlinear programming problems are stated and solved.•Sample sizes with minimum weighted-average risks are deduced in closed-forms.•Minimum sample size test plans with controlled risks are found by computation.
