First Level Approximation of Measured Neuronal Response using a Leaky Integrate and Fire Model

Modeling of a spiking bio-neuron is still an important exercise in view of possible applications of the underlying features in the areas of neuromorphic engineering, cognitive radio and spiking neural networks. An approximate but low-complexity mathematical model on membrane potential [1] is used as a possible candidate to assess multiple model parameters from a selected measured data set [2]. The first hand assessment of the model parameters are presented in this paper. Estimates of the model parameters will help in tuning the model and thus generating spike trains closer to what are generated by biological neurons.
