摘要

•A porous NiCuC substrate was adopted to develop a multi-porous NiCuOx/NiCuC catalyst.•The NiCuOx/NiCuC has an overpotential of 116 mV at the current density of 10 mA cm−2.•The NiCuOx hybrids enable more ions and electrons access to the interface.•The strategy is applicable to synthesize a variety of multi-porous electrocatalysts.
