Establishment of EMG-Force relationship obtained during Simultaneous Voluntary Contraction of Biceps and Flexor Digitorum Profundus Muscles

This paper discusses about the EMG-Force relationship during voluntary contraction of arm muscles. In this study the contribution of the Flexor Digitorum Profundus and Biceps Brachii towards hand grip strength is studied simultaneously. The response of eight subjects is recorded and Vrms along with Vpp is calculated and an attempt has been made in drawing relationship with percentage maximal voluntary contraction. The inter-connection between the EMG signal and muscle tension on application of force is clearly established in a quantitative way through this work. The limit of endurance or fatigue point can be determined using this model after proper validation and better accuracy.
