Abstract
MRI is considered to be the gold standard imaging modality for diagnosing osteochondritis dissecans (OCD). In our experience additional, important information (at least for the capitellum), is found in the CT scan. In order to determine the additional value of a preoperative CT scan in adolescent patients with capitellar OCD of the elbow, corresponding MRIs and CTs were compared retrospectively. The hypothesis was that CT reveals additional information, not detected on MRI.
