•Video-facilitated reflective practice is a student-led debriefing method that involves the student intentionally reflecting on their clinical simulation.•Video-facilitated reflective practice allowed students to objectively identify areas for improvement in technical skills.•Video-facilitated reflective practice has the unique benefits of reduced student's hindsight bias, assessment of interpersonal dynamics, and decreased faculty workload.
