Recurrent Arachnoid Cysts Secondary to Spinal Adhesive Arachnoiditis Successfully Treated with a Ventriculoperitoneal Shunt

•Spinal adhesive arachnoiditis secondary to meningitis can lead to arachnoid cysts.•Fenestration of cysts is first line, but inflammation may lead to recurrence.•CSF shunting may prevent neurologic decline caused by multiple compressive cysts.•CSF diversion may also help prevent cyst recurrence.•A literature review showed that shunts have been successful in similar presentations.
