•Computational model predicts in vivo dynamics of fibroblast signaling network and collagen accumulation after myocardial infarction.•Many features of fibroblast phenotype after myocardial infarction may be recapitulated by static stimulation with single or pairs of paracrine factors.•After myocardial infarction, Smad3, Smad7, protein kinase G, NADPH oxidase, and IL1 induce phase-specific regulation of collagen due to feedforwards and feedbacks.
