Differential toxic effects of food contaminant mixtures in HepaRG cells after single or repeated treatments

摘要
•We examined the genotoxic potential of 6 food contaminant mixtures in HepaRG cells.•Genotoxicity was evaluated using the γH2AX assay under 3 exposure scenarios.•Effects of single (24 h) and repeated exposures (for 3 or 7 days) were evaluated.•Genotoxicity was observed for 5 of the 6 mixtures in a time- and concentration-dependent manner.•For 4 of the 5 genotoxic mixtures, repeated treatments were required for a positive response.
