Abstract
Semi-classical particle rotor model calculation has been carried out for the magnetic dipole bands in Ni-60 to understand the possible existence of the shears mechanism in this nucleus. The reduced transition probability of the magnetic dipole transitions belonging to the candidate magnetic rotational bands has been calculated. Results of the present work have been discussed in the light of the earlier theoretical works on this nucleus.
