•Cross-network structure of the CNTs organically connects all areas.•If the material is thin, EMI SE relies heavily on conductivity.•Surface current quickly moves toward the surrounding CNT, and is lost in the form of heat.•When the electromagnetic waves collide with the Ni-Pd alloy, the energy is instantaneously converted into a surface current.
