Changes in long-term performance of fibre reinforced shotcrete due to corrosion and embrittlement

•10 year in-field exposure tests have been conducted on nine sets of FRS.•The test specimens were pre-cracked and exposed in a benign outdoor exposure site.•Aging led to strength gain for the concrete matrix, embrittlement, and corrosion.•Embrittlement and corrosion both promoted brittle rupture of fibres with aging.
