Experimental investigation on the mechanical and rheological properties of high-performance concrete (HPC) incorporating sinking bead

•Comparative and analysis the difference of sinking bead and fly ash from the viewpoint of physics and chemistry.•Four sinking bead HPC were prepared based on the modified Andreasen & Andresen model.•The rheology properties of the fresh sinking bead HPC were identified by the relative slump, mini V-funnel test and rotational rheometer.•The sinking bead incorporated in the HPC paste reducing yield stress, plastic viscosity, significantly improving mechanical strength and electric resistivity after 28 days curing.
