Abstract
•Patient delay in the recognition of and response to the symptoms of the ACS is a world-wide problem.•The Symptom Onset-to-First Medical Contact (SO-to-FMC) time influences the outcome of ACS.•A first community educational program about chest pain is under way, aimed at providing better community intervention.•HCPSEP reduces SO-to-FMC time and improves 1-year MACCE-free survival rate of these patients.
