Abstract
As its high power density and efficiency, permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) is widely used in electric vehicles (EV). Indirect Stator Quantities Control (ISC) of induction motor (IM) with low torque ripple has an outstanding performance of high dynamic response and stability in the whole speed range, which is needed in the EV traction for power performance and safety. However there are some problems to solve when it is applied to PMSM, such as solving the load angle corresponding to torque and achieving maximum torque per ampere (MTPA) control in the stator flux oriented frame for PMSM. To solve these problems, this paper presents an improved control method of stator flux oriented of PMSM similar to ISC. The simulation and experimental verification are implemented, which demonstrate a good dynamic and steady performance in the whole speed range.
