Synthesis, spectroscopic, structural and antimicrobial studies of a dimeric complex of copper(II) with trichloroacetic acid and metronidazole

摘要
A new dimeric Cu(II) complex was synthesized from Cu(NO3)2·3H2O, trichloroacetic acid and metronidazole. The complex was characterized with spectroscopic techniques. The crystal structure of the Cu(II) complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The complex and the parent ligands were tested on candida albican as well on Gram (−ve) and Gram (+ve) bacteria.
