Laparoscopic Radical Antegrade Modular Pancreatico-Splenectomy (RAMPS)

Summary: 59 yrs old female patient, presented with vague pain in abdomen since 1 month. Ultrasound abdomen showed a mass lesion in body and tail of pancreas. EUS guided FNA was positive for adenocarcinoma. CA 19-9 was normal. CECT showed operable lesion. Patient underwent laparoscopic RAMPS procedure. Operative time was 240 minutes. Post operatively patient recovered well and discharged on POD 5. Histopathological examination showed IPMN with invasive adenocarcinoma, R0 resection and T2 N0 M0 stage. Laparoscopic approach is safe and feasible in carefully selected patients of carcinoma body and tail of pancreas.
