The method of the steel structures mechanical characteristics determination during monitoring tests is considered with the dynamic shock conical indentation. The article devoted to the urgent problem of assessing the strength characteristics of steel elements of buildings, which during the operation were subjected to mechanical deformation and fire. As a result, their strength characteristics have changed locally. The manufacture of special samples for laboratory testing is not possible. The developed method of shock indentation of indenter and registration of parameters of displacement, speed, and acceleration of the indenter upon impact is considered. The method showed good agreement between theoretical and experimental data and allowed us to conclude that the building structure is in a state that meets the requirements of regulatory documentation.The method of the steel structures mechanical characteristics determination during monitoring tests is considered with the dynamic shock conical indentation.
