Proteomic variation in Vitis amurensis and V. vinifera buds during cold acclimation

•Buds of two grapevines (V. amurensis and V. vinifera) were used for proteomic analysis during cold acclimation (CA).•A total of 472 and 713 differentially abundant proteins (DAPs) were detected in V. amurensis and V. vinifera, respectively.•Two species shared 235 DAPs which were mainly involved in chaperone and carbohydrate metabolic pathways.•Phenylpropanoid biosynthesis related proteins were accumulated in V. amurensis and may contribute to its cold hardiness.
