摘要

•Effect of SCF-CO2 on the thermal decomposition behavior of meta-aramid fiber was disclosed at the first time.•The kinetics of predominant decomposition steps was explored by using four kinetic models.•Influence of SCF-CO2 on kinetic parameters of the two-step decomposition was observed.•A second-order reaction mechanism for thermal decomposition of the fiber was revealed.
