Numerical investigation on hydraulic and thermal characteristics of micro latticed pin fin in the heat sink

•Tow morphological latticed pin fin is designed to replace the conventional solid pin fin in heat sink.•Three-dimensional analytical model is established.•The hydraulic state and pressure loss are described and compared.•The thermal-hydraulic performance using Nuis evaluated for the pin fin models.•The reduction of volume by using latticed pin fin is analyzed.
