Abstract
Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) performance is gaining more and more attention in the field of electric drive, which requires accurate and fast calculation of electromagnetic force. The traditional analytical method cannot calculate the air gap permeance accurately, which leads to large error in the result. The finite element method (FEM) can get more precise result; however, it is less efficient. The experimental test method is costly and not suitable for the stage of design. In this paper, a hybrid calculation method of radial electromagnetic force based on finite element method (FEM) and analytical method is proposed. The FEM is used to calculate the air gap permeance which should be substituted into the analytical model to establish the hybrid model. Finally, the distribution of air gap flux density and radial electromagnetic force are obtained in conditions of no-load and sinusoidal power supply. Through comparing the results of analytical method, hybrid method and FEM, the proposed hybrid method is proved to be more valid and effective than analytical method.
