Interoperability Evaluation of Wireless EV Charging Systems Using Coil Ampere-Turns

This paper proposes an interoperability evaluation method for wireless electric vehicle charging (WEVC) systems based on coil ampere-turns. Firstly, the concept of interoperability is introduced and parameters to evaluate interoperability are compared. Interoperability of different coils is also analyzed and concluded. Secondly, the theoretical background of coil ampere-turns is presented and the relationship between coil ampere-turns and interoperability is established. Thirdly, the standard devices are introduced and standard zone of coil ampere-turns is plotted. Interoperability of any vehicle assembly (VA) and ground assembly (GA) can be verified by coil ampere-turns test using standard devices. Only if the measured coil ampere-turns is within the standard zone can interoperability be confirmed. Finally, the theoretical analysis is validated by simulation, demonstrating the effectiveness and simplicity of the proposed method.
