During the first inspections carried out on buried concrete pipelines of the Rio Colorado-Tijuana Aqueduct (RCTA), several types of corrosion-causes failures were detected. Both the failures and the lack of anticorrosive cathodic protection systems represented a potential danger in aqueduct performance. This study focused on the causes of the problem and possible solutions.
