Defects at the interface electron transport layer and alternative counter electrode, their impact on perovskite solar cells performance

•Comparable performance photovoltaic of the perovskite solar cells with an alternative counter electrode.•Defects in the interfaces of solar cells perovskite were observed by the SEM and LBIC techniques.•The quality of interface ETL-CE is not determinant for good performance of solar cells perovskite.
