摘要

•We analyzed lead (Pb) in blood of incubating Baltic Sea eiders 2017 and 2018.•Pb increased and body weight decreased significantly from start to end.•In 13% of the birds Pb exceeded levels for clinical poisoning (200 μg/L).•In 48% of the birds Pb exceeded levels for subclinical poisoning (500 μg/L).•Further investigations should determine origin and uptake of Pb in the eiders.
