Abstract
Over the past quarter century, artificial intelligence/machine learning (AI/ML) enthusiasts have repeatedly promised to revolutionize "predictive analytics" in clinical pharmacology (CP) but have fallen short. With new digital and "omics" data types yielding increased data volume and complexity, and widespread acceptance of AI/ML across industries, has CP finally reached its "John Henry Moment"? Will the foundational work of CP be swept away by AI/ML-based predictive analytics, or does our AI/ML experience to date suggest a more optimistic fate?
