The influence of early postnatal chronic mild stress stimulation on the activation of amygdala in adult rat.

•Chronic stress during early postnatal life changes activation of amygdala in the adult after the same stressor.•Changes have more quantitative than qualitative character.•In all stressed animals the highest level of activation is demonstrated by the MeD and BAOT.•Early postnatal chronic mild stress results in decrease in activation in most all amygdaloid nuclei after stimulation in adult.•The most significant changes showed BAOT and Me-especially their NOS- and CR-cell population.
