Study on Luminescence Properties of Tb³⁺, Yb³⁺ Doped CeF₃ Nanoparticles

A series of CeF 3 nanoparticles doped with Tb 3+ and Yb 3+ were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The phase structure, morphology and optical properties of the samples were measured by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and photoluminescence spectroscopy (PL). The results show that the synthesized samples are of high quality. After doping, the crystal lattice was not changed significantly, and the sample presented the oblate shape. With the increase of Yb 3+ ion doping concentration, the green emission intensity of Tb 3+ was effectively enhanced, and the mechanism of enhanced luminescence was further explored according to the spectrum. This research provides potential applications for CeF 3 materials in visible light illumination display, laser output and optical communication.
