Abstract
•The production of different sophorolipids congeners, is achievable by changing the concentration of the carbon source and feeding times.•Sophorolipids is able to disrupt pre-formed biofilms of S. aureus, C. albicans and P. aeruginosa at concentrations higher than 0.1 % w/v.•Sophorolipids is able to reduce the adherence of biofilms of S. aureus and C. albicans as a precoating agent at 0.8 % w/v.•Sophorolipids (0.05 % w/v) are able to disrupt under co-incubation conditions the attachment of C. albicans and S. aureus onto medical grade-silicone discs.
