Abstract
•Biological activities of essential oil from Thymus capitatus were tested.•Thymol, carvacol and γ-terpinene are the major components identified by GC-MS method.•Antioxidant activity of essential oil was evaluated by three methods; DPPH, FRAP and TAC.•Thymus capitatus essential oil exhibited a high antifungal activity.
