Abstract
learning is central to applied curricula; yet, the teaching environments requiredfor it do not resemble traditional classroom settings. This article argues that traditional and experiential learning are fundamentally different and that this difference has important consequences for the discipline of sociology as it is taught and practiced. Two models for curriculum integration are presented, and the consequences of each are discussed.
