Experimental study of an earth to air heat exchanger (EAHE) for warm humid climatic conditions

•A horizontal EAHE with 6 m long, diameter of 101.6 mm, and buried at 2.5 m was developed.•The EAHE outlet section was thermally insulated to improve its performance.•The thermal evaluation was carried out during six months in water saturated soil.•The EAHE was able to cool the air up to 5.5 °C below the inlet temperature.•The maximum energy removed as cooler was 4.438 kWh for the month of August.
