Total organic acid adsorption using alginate/clay hybrid composite for industrial lean amine reclamation using fixed-bed: Parametric study coupled with foaming

•Performance of calcium alginate/clay hybrid (CAH) composites for removing total organic acid (TOA) anions was investigated.•Parametric study of fixed bed adsorption column was performed.•General rate-based adsorption models successfully predicted breakthrough curves.•Foaming experiments confirmed the applicability of CAH composites for lean MDEA reclamation.
