Component trees for image sequences and streams

•We show how to represent and analyze image sequences with morphological hierarchies.•The streaming case that corresponds to new images being appended to the time series is addressed with dedicated algorithms.•Classification of satellite image time series provides a comparative study of tree building strategies.
