摘要
The objective of this article is to report the presence of larval Leptus mites (Acari: Erythraeidae) parasitizing Scaptia (Lepnia) (Diptera: Tabanidae). Surveys were conducted from May 2017 to May 2019, involving four active searches of equine precincts located in the Veterinary School of UFRGS, located in the city of Porto Alegre, state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. A total of 38 tabanids were collected: 37 Scaptia (Lepnia) and one specimen of Tabanus triangulum. Seven of thirty-seven Scaptia samples (18.4%) were parasitized by larval Leptus. This is first report of the Leptus parasitizing Scaptia (Lepnia).
