Non-pharmacological therapeutic strategy options for patients with dementia based on cognitive function—A Bayesian network meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

•The effectiveness of optimal Non-pharmacological therapies(NPTs) for treating patients with dementia is still unclear.•We performed a Bayesian network meta-analysis (NMA) to rank the most efficient NPTs based on the direct and indirect evidence between them.•Our NMA suggested that all the NPTs have a significant improvement in cognitive ability and Comprehensive therapy (CT) was the best health intervention to treat dementia patients.•Our results are encouraging enough to suggest that further studies should rely on more available outcomes of comprehension aspects rather than a outcome in single domain.
