Incorporating multiple travel modes into a floating catchment area framework to analyse patterns of accessibility to hierarchical healthcare facilities

•Multiple travel modes were considered in 3SFCA models to measure access to healthcare facilities.•An arithmetic mean-based Gaussian weight contributed to achieving stable accessibility values.•Real-time travel data were used to represent actual travel costs more accurately.•Disparities of accessibility appear among communities and that is inappropriate for their population size.
