•A high measurement accuracy temperature sensing system is proposed.•A Sagnac interferometer (SI) and an optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) are exploited.•High measurement accuracy of 0.0173 °C is realized.•The combination of traditional SI and OEO allows for the high-speed interrogation.
