Abstract
Physical activity is an excellent way of promoting and developing young people's social and personal values in a current setting characterised by promoting physical activity due to its multiple benefits. The objective of this study is to identify the values associated with satisfaction with physical activity in the adolescent population. The sample consisted of 401 young people from various regions in Spain. Schwartz's PVQ scale was applied to the participants through a self-administered online questionnaire. The data were analysed by exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis and a multiple regression model. The results indicate that the values of hedonism, achievement and benevolence give them greatest satisfaction. Values such as tradition and self-direction and stimulation have an average relevance to the relationship and satisfaction with physical activity because they are more associated with a lively lifestyle. As a result, the dimension of openness to change becomes more important. This is important information in sports psychology, where the values associated with physical activity have hardly been analysed.
