Abstract
Stimulation of adipose tissue and activation of immune cells are important component triggering obesity. We recently identified that certain Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) class II alleles (HLA-DRB1) were higher in morbidly obese patients. HLA class I, HLA-A, HLA-B and HLA-C loci were also shown to be related to some inflammatory diseases. The present study aims to analyze the association of HLA-A, HLA-B and HLA-C alleles with morbid obesity.
