Spinal cord astroblastoma with an EWSR1-BEND2 fusion classified as a high-grade neuroepithelial tumour with MN1 alteration.

CNS high-grade neuroepithelial tumour with an MN1 alteration (HGNET-MN1) is a new entity of CNS brain tumour recently described by Sturm et al. [1]. In addition to its distinct methylation signature, MN1 alteration is a feature of HGNET-MN1, and one-third of cases of this subgroup are histologically diagnosed as astroblastoma and typically occur in the cerebral hemisphere and rarely in the spinal cord. MN1- BEN Domain Containing 2 (BEND2) fusion is the most recurrent fusion in HGNET-MN1 [1].
