Independent and combined associations between screen time and physical activity and perceived stress among college students

•Females reporting high screen time (HST) were more likely to experience stress than those reporting low screen time (LST).•Females reporting light- and moderate-intensity PA (LMPA) were more likely to experience stress than those reporting vigorous-intensity PA (VIPA).•Female reporting both LST and LMPA, both HST and VIPA, and both HST and LMPA were more likely to experience stress.
