摘要
Many ship collisions have been caused by a navigator's improper lookout that, in navigational watch, is considered an error in the situation awareness of the navigator. In simulator experiments using the situation awareness global assessment technique (SAGAT), it is possible to measure a navigator's situation awareness in navigation watch directly. Meanwhile, if a navigator's situation awareness (SA) can be measured onboard, it is possible to understand the characteristic of the realistic SA of the navigator. This study proposes an onboard measurement method of a navigator's SA using the SAGAT. Consequently, it is demonstrated that no difference exists in the bridge simulator and onboard measurement results of a navigator's SA using the SAGAT. It is possible to measure the onboard navigator's SA using the SAGAT by considering some onboard characteristics.
