Wide-band Phasor Measurement Unit: Design and Test
ieee innovative smart grid technologies asia(2019)
Abstract
This paper presents the design of a wide-band phasor measurement unit (WPMU) that can capture both the fundamental component and each sub-/super- synchronous harmonic component of node current and node voltage. The work is concentrated on adopting the adaptive detection method to dynamically capture and filter harmonic wave within the frequency of 0-1550Hz. The proposed WPMU can be adopted in the monitoring, analyzing, controlling, and protecting of renewable highly integrated power systems where sub-synchronous resonance (SSR) occurs frequently. The adaptive detection principles are illustrated in detail and the accuracy, as well as the efficiency of the proposed equipment are tested and presented.
