•Recent evidence has focused attention on the presence of short lingual frenulum in children with sleep-disordered breathing.•In the present study, an association of short lingual frenulum with sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) has been demonstrated.•A multidisciplinary approach is necessary to allow early detection and treatment of craniofacial changes in children with SDB.
