Myeloma plasma cell Multiparametric Flow Cytometry (MFC) detection in autograft products of Newly Diagnosed Multiple Myeloma (NDMM).

Over the last decades the incorporation of novel agents such as proteasome inihibitor (PI) and immunomodulatory drug (IMID) prior of autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) resulted in high response rate after induction therapy in newly diagnosed Multiple Myeloma (NDMM). Nevertheless the relapse occurs in virtually all MM patients. Many authors suggested that the presence of myeloma plasma cells (PC) in the graft may contribute to the recurrence of myeloma after ASCT. Recent techniques of multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) can be applied to detect such contamination.
