Unlocking wise digital techno-futures: contributions from the Degrowth community

•This paper presents perspectives of members of the Degrowth community who were asked to identify wise and unwise futures of digitalisation in 2068.•The participants to the dialogue fear the increasing disconnection of humans from the natural environment and from one another as individuals.•Unwise futures include those technologies that allow allocation of scarce resources to the benefit of the wealthy few and authoritarian elites.•Wise futures should allow people to freely access digital technologies that are convivial, just, environmentally sustainable and democratic.
