Prevalence of Gout in the Surviving United States Solid Organ Transplantation Population

•There is an estimated 356,000 surviving US patients of solid organ transplantation (SOT) as of 2017.•Kidney transplantation includes the largest population of patients at an estimated 233,000.•From Medicare and commercial claims analysis, gout prevalence among US patients of SOT is 11%.•Greater gout prevalence was seen in recipients of kidney and heart transplantations than in recipients of liver and lung transplantations.•All SOT populations had greater gout prevalence than the general US population.
