The regulation and interaction of PVT1 and miR181a-5p contributes to the repression of SP1 expression by the combination of XJD decoction and cisplatin in human lung cancer cells.

•XJD enhances the inhibitory effect of DDP on growth in non-small cell lung cancer cells.•XJD decreases lncRNA PVT1 and increases miR181a-5p expressions.•There is a reciprocal interaction between PVT1 and miR181a-5p.•Overexpressed PVT1 block XJD-decreased SP1 expression.•Overexpression of SP1 reverses XJD-inhibited lung cancer cell growth.
